I love the video, but have one question. When I was reading Dan Hampton, he was saying, they would break away from the position after shooting a missile (against SAMs) , because the smoke would reveal position. He was a fighter jet pilot, so it may be different, but I wonder why you didn't do that here? Is it just because the game doesn't see like humans would do in real life and you are not bothered to play it other way? Or rules and tactics in this case are different for choppers? Cheers!

Please state what map you’re using unfortunately I cannot find any information regarding what map you’re on. I’m new to DCS and it would be nice to know this information as there are many maps to purchase.

Weird how the army added another set for IR/Laser, but the Navy/Marines just integrated it into the APR-39 using the AAR-47. The Synthetic voice gave similar callouts to what we had, but I realize how it actually works is classified. I am actually surprised it's this correct.

I never thought ANY helo could supplant the Apache as my favorite, but the Kiowa has done exactly that. And I don't know why or how it happened. The Apache is superior to the Kiowa in every single category. Fire power, agility (well, that's a close call) sensors, speed, defensive system, etc...yet I am addicted to the underdog in this case. I know in the Apache I can absorb some damage and still fight. Every time I get hit in the Kiowa I am spiraling to my death. I can't explain it. And Casmo's videos and insight into both make it all the better. I am sure it's just because it's so new and the novelty hasn't wore off and the Apache will once again be King. But until that happens...

Any tips for taking off?Half the time I crash from "rotor rpm low" and not getting enough power to gain altitude.

I'd love to see a video where you show a reasonably fast low level flying with how to "sharply" stop in place or do sharp tight turns without gaining or loosing altitude - if that's possible with helicopters - I just started and have no any idea about flying anything rotary. The only game before that was Gunship 2000 and the flight model... Well, there wasn't any there (lol). Please can you do that? Ka50, Kiowa, Apache, Huey.

Standard and 180 autos were entered at 1000’ MSL / 700’ AGL. When I taught in the 58D at Hanchey, we brought back aided and unaided autos at night. Unaided is quite an experience!

Do you have any problems with the tail rotor? Everytime I release the tail wheel my aircraft just spins in place. I cannot hardly control it on the ground with the tail wheel unlocked. Anyone know why this is? l

Hi Casmo, this post is not very important for you and you probably will not remember but there is something that I have to say to be fair toward you and myself. Some time back I have unsubscribed from your channel because of the mess Razbam created with F15-E pre-release; all content creators were putting up their videos and you were the only one that pushed back, I praised you for that and respected your decision. Unfortunately you changed your mind and that caused me to unsubscribe. Just want to let you know, that it was unfair for me to judge your decision as I did. After all, Razbam created the situation in which content creators were put in very unfortunate position, and you did at least acknowledge the issue which is more than others did. Although on paper, my decision appeared to be right at the time, it was wrong. As I said above, not really important for you if I apologise, but it is important for me to apologise if the apology is warranted, and it is in this case, so I do apologise, I will subscribe back and continue to watch you content, which was always fantastic. hah hah, yeah....i still get a kick out of telling people the shit our 58 pilots got up to at drum and iraq. the amount of flight hours we racked up in iraq, oh my god. as i recall the entire brigade we were attached to didnt have as many hours when combined as our 58's did. when the 64's were broken down, we were up with 2 or 4 taking their place with plenty to spare. they even swapped out a company of 58's for their 64's because we were always on station and always flying.

Offset acquire/track also used to correct/adjust hit spot to minimize overspill/underspill and increase Pk for the engagement. IRL, I would've adjusted to the cab area to improve likelihood of target destruction vs the chance of the missile puching through the bed and impacting the ground instead of critical structure of the vehicle. I don't know how DCS models damage, but I have already seen videos of HF and APKWS misses due to accepting point track as putting the laser on target.

Re: Force Trim. There were some units that started flying with force trim on during late-OIF. The idea was that if the right-seater got shot the left-seater would have an easier time reaching for the controls and not have to worry about unusual attitude recovery on top of it, especially over urban terrain. Sounded like planting a death flag to me, so I never did.
